What Are You Stitching?

Following on from last week’s What Are You Stitching? (HERE), this week we continue to share stitching that has a direct link with our International Needlework Convention, Beating Around the Bush.

‘I enjoy making embroidered boxes and saw a red work one some years ago at Beating Around the Bush and thought I would like to do one, so adapted a pattern from Inspirations #66 and am pleased with the results.’

Julie, we love that you were able to adapt Margaret Light’s design and pair it with a method of construction that created a piece that is uniquely your own.

‘I have a very clever friend, Laura.  She wanted to make Marguerite from Inspirations #97 and knew that five others of us also wanted to make it. Laura knew it wouldn’t happen for any of us unless one of us organized the project and arranged a time to get us all to her house. So, she did it all!’  

‘She bought the materials, prepped the fabric, made nibbles and made sure that her adorable kitty, Mindy, was out and ready to hostess.  Thanks to her, I now have a gorgeous project that’s finished and loved. I even added a small twist to mine. Do you see it?! Everyone should have such a clever and generous friend as Laura.’

Kathleen, it was a joy to have you as part of our Beating Around the Bush Tribe in 2016! We love how Laura was so instrumental in bringing a group of likeminded people together in such a creative and fun way and think the results of your time together as a tribe are simply spectacular!
