Worked with lustrous stranded silk threads onto a ground of natural linen, repeating corner motifs frame three dazzling birds, stitched in shades of golden yellow, peach, turquoise, azure blue and violet, resting amongst foliage and vibrant flowers.

Worked mainly with long and short stitch, the surface is enhanced with textural stitches including Cretan stitch, Palestrina stitch, blanket stitch and whipped spider web.
