Description
Birds are a common and recurring theme in embroidery and in many forms of counted work are stylised in a way that makes them slightly comical but very endearing.
Worked in Catherine de’ Medici embroidery, this stunning, linen cushion cover features two wonderful examples, mirrored into each quadrant of an ornate diamond border.
Edged with antique hem stitch and chain stitch picots, the cover is trimmed with a knotted tassel at each corner.
