More about this digital file

Embroidery from the Schwalm region of Germany abounds with charming folk motifs rich in symbolism and this beautiful cushion, worked with white thread onto a natural fabric, includes some of the most popular ones.

The heart, source of life and love, is nestled in a basket and from it grow tulips, symbolising both affluence and a modified Tree of Life, and sunflowers, the petals on each one surrounding a circle representing perfection and eternity.
