Description
Living in woody areas of Sri Lanka, the Western Ghats and hills of southern India, this colourful butterfly’s preferred habitat is dense forest at low elevation.
It has a moderately strong flight and can often be seen resting.
The males are attracted to wet sand and perspiration and it is the state butterfly of Tamil Nadu.
