Description

Samplers have been a source of inspiration and interest to embroiderers for hundreds of years.

In her latest project Alison has drawn inspiration from a sampler in her embroidery collection dated 1716.

Alphabets were the principal feature of samplers as they taught girls their letters while teaching them embroidery.

Alison has used two alphabets from her old sampler as well as other counted thread stitches to create a biscornu pincushion that is full of appeal, to embroider and to admire.
