Description

A decorative emery is a useful part of an embroiderer's basic kit.

For our pocket project Alison has designed a scissor weight that contains a cube filled with emery powder.

The purpose of a scissor fob is to make the scissors safe on a table, and if they do fall, the weight should land first, so protecting the points of the scissors.

The purpose of the scissor fob filled with emery powder is not only to protect the scissor points, but also to be there for keeping needles in good condition.

This emery cube is decorated with bullion stitches and French knots using rich, lustrous silk threads to contrast with matte textured linen.
