An Elizabethan Panel

Using a subtle palette of several greens plus gold, mauve and iris, this slender, rectangular panel combines surface embroidery and stumpwork to capture a little of the glorious spirit of the Elizabethan age.

Flowers and fruit popular during this period, pomegranate, columbine, honeysuckle, fig and the Tudor rose, come to life against a background of de-lustred satin and are enhanced by tiny gold paillettes and twinkling glass beads.
