More about this digital file
Description
Every piece of embroidery begins with a design but what would happen if we gave a pretty scene depicting lovebirds on a branch to two, very different stitchers?
Hazel Blomkamp and Phillipa Turnbull have taken on this challenge, creating two very different but equally charming scenes, one worked with traditional crewelwork materials and techniques and the other with stranded cotton and beads using a variety of surface embroidery techniques plus needlelace and weaving.
