Description

Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery style which dates to the Edo period (1615 – 1868). It was mostly used by the working-class farming and fishing families to make stronger more practical workwear. A worn-out piece was stitched with layers of old cloth, producing a sturdy garment passed down through generations.

With 100% cotton panel designed by Hitomi Fujita for QH Textiles and handprinted in Japan, this kit also includes a pack of 8 assorted Sashiko needles and white Sashiko thread - ready for you to start stitching.

Fabric is printed with water soluble ink - do not use steam iron or spray with water until stitching is complete.
