Lavender is renowned for its wonderful, long-lasting fragrance and has been used for centuries to scent linens and make perfume.
Paired here with the pretty seaside daisy, the lavender buds are worked primarily with surface embroidery while the open flowers and bee wings are stitched onto silk organza, then cut out and applied to the background fabric.
Adding extra dimension, needlewoven bars are used to create the lavender leaves in soft shades of grey-green.
