Shades of bright China blue echo the dark denim piping that borders this stunning cushion, worked in crewel wool onto natural linen twill.

A single flower stem, complete with leaves, buds and a partially open bloom, is stitched using a monochromatic colour scheme, shading from the palest pastel to the very darkest blue, giving a wonderfully contemporary edge to this centuries-old and much-loved style of embroidery.
