Description
Lace has been a revered textile for centuries, its exquisite beauty making it highly desirable and many forms of whitework have developed in an attempt to replicate its delicate appearance.
Hardanger is one such technique and this quartet of sewing fold, pincushion, thread cutter cover and scissor fob demonstrate how successful this can be with the large star motif filled with an open grid, echoing the intricacy of the lacy border stitches.
A crimson cotton lining accentuates the stitching and twisted cords are used to finish the scissor fob, thread cutter cover and sewing fold.
