Deep in the dark, damp, forest these graceful fungi grow, breaking through the soft covering of fallen leaves to emerge into the filtered light, their luminous caps hovering above slender stems.
Worked using a combination of surface embroidery and stumpwork techniques with stranded cotton threads onto a dramatic background of black silk, this outstanding study captures the ethereal beauty of these fascinating organisms.
