More about this digital file
Description
Deerfield embroidery, with its gentle palette of soft blues on a white ground, was inspired by 18th century crewelwork and originally stitched with wool thread onto linen fabric, although later examples utilised linen threads.
With a delicate, open design typical of the style, this dainty lavender sachet is worked with stranded cotton and features a central butterfly, surrounded by four leaf and flower sprays.
A tassel hangs from each corner and running stitch forms a border along the edge.
