What Are You Stitching? (YOUR STITCHING) What Are You Stitching?

‘Because you asked us to send in whatever we are stitching, I found the courage to send you this flower.’

‘I wanted to try a 3D flower, I had no technique nor orientation, but I bought fine fabric and lengths of wire. I drew the petals, fixed the wire in place and filled them using three threads.’

‘It was a little too much for the fine fabric, but I was able to finish it. The next one will be perfected.’

We’re so glad you gained the courage, Sophia, because your flower is beautiful! Working without any instructions is no small feat, and it sounds like you approached it with both determination and heart. We can’t wait to see what you try next! Thank you for being part of the Inspirations ‘family’ and sharing your wonderful design with us all.

‘I thought you might like to see The Little Rag Doll I made following the instructions in Inspirations issue 65.’

‘I’ve recently retired and have more time for stitching, so I pulled out my pile of Inspiration magazines, especially the small number of early issues, and picked out some projects to do.’

‘The doll is a Susan O’Connor design. I think it’s fair to say that the most striking part of the doll is the hair which took as long as the doll and clothes to make. There is a lot of hair, but it is quite effective and she reminds me of Princess Merida in Brave.

She is a present for my granddaughter.’

Thank you so much for sharing your Little Rag Doll, Helen! We absolutely loved hearing about her. It’s wonderful to know you’ve been diving into your collection of Inspirations magazines now that you have more time for stitching. We’re sure your granddaughter will be delighted with your labour of love.

Have you challenged yourself with a new technique ? Or revisited a favourite project from past issues? Have you created something simply to see where your needle and thread would take you?

Whatever you are stitching, we’d love to see it! Email photos of what you’ve created with needle and thread along with a few details about your stitching journey to news@inspirationsstudios.com
