What Are You Stitching?

‘I have been busy with appliqué on my hummingbird quilt and a threadpainting. The begonia was fist painted on silk. I then hand appliquéd a ‘frame’ for it. Then I mounted the silk painting to it. Then I did free motion threadpainting.’

‘The backside of it is a picture behind the picture. It also shows the thread work.’

‘The hummingbird quilt was free motion quilted after I finished the appliqué of the blocks.’

Cynthia, what amazing projects, with so much time and thought put into the design, the detail and the construction of them. The end results are gorgeous, and the added element of a second image on the back of the piece is very impressive. Thank you for sharing these with us.
Pam Feeser
‘I created and designed this beautiful honeybee brooch for Earth Day. It adorns my clothing when I go to church and charity fundraisers where I set up my tent. Making brooches is one of my fun go to stumpwork activities. Mostly I do my own designs.’

What an adorable little character, Pam, bound to attract much admiration when worn. The intricacies of the design and construction are remarkable, and it’s clear a lot of time, intention and love was put into this piece. Keep up the terrific work.
Sandra
‘I've been embroidering since I could hold a needle! Lately, I have been creating series of stitched subjects. The last one I did was a series of six moths that I am sharing with you all. The ones I'm working on now are four suns!’

This is an incredible collection of pieces, Sandra. Each design is vibrant and unique, but fits into the series beautifully, and your stitching is outstanding. We’d love to see your series of suns once complete.

Do your embroidery pieces feature a second image on the back? Do you enjoy creating brooches? Or have you recently created your own stitched series?
Whatever you are stitching, we’d love to see it! Email photos of what you’ve created with needle and thread along with a few details about your stitching journey to news@inspirationsstudios.com
