What Are You Stitching?

8TH AUGUST 2025 - ASU #488

Marianne Chivell

‘Just thought I would share with you my latest project that I have finished stitching. It is one of Anna Scott's kits called Reflections. Even though I found some of the stitches challenging I am very pleased with the results.’

What a wonderful piece Marianne, you should absolutely be pleased with the result and we know Anna herself will be thrilled to be reading this and admiring how well you’ve tackled those challenging stitches. We certainly hope you keep trying new techniques and creating more beautiful pieces like this.

Clarissa Crabtree

‘Thought you would like to see my completed Floe the Fairy Penguin from Inspirations issue #123. She has been quite the journey and as I never did quite get the picot feet right, I wound up doing them in felt. I also substituted beads for all the white French knots because they are one of my least favourite stitches.’

‘This is my second completed project from Inspirations magazine, the other being this lovely pillow, Floral Symphony from issue #115. I really do appreciate your magazine as it provides ideas and stretches needlework possibilities beyond anything that is available here in the United States.’

Clarissa, your very own Floe is gorgeous! We love the personal touches you have given her and well done for make the substitutions required to help make the stitching process more enjoyable for you, there is a great lesson there for us all. Your cushion is wonderful as well and we’re so pleased to hear you are enjoying Inspirations magazine, thank you for the kind words.

EJ Lamb

‘My name is EJ Lamb and I was recommended by a fan of your newsletter to reach out and share with you my latest commission piece. This is a mixed media project with acrylic florals and a hand embroidered bird on a stretched satin canvas.’

EJ, we are delighted you chose to share this with us. Your mix of acrylics and hand embroidery is vibrant and unique, and the finished piece is simply stunning.
