What Are You Stitching?

Sandra Sparrius

‘After more years than I had anticipated, I finished a goldwork project in December of last year. The project - depicting a stylised clematis flower - was taught online through the RSN; and it was a wonderful way to develop my goldwork skills.’

‘I was then faced with the challenge of how to mount it. I wanted it to be part of something useful, rather than hanging on a wall. What to do? And then I remembered the wooden jewellery box that you had through the Inspirations online shop.’

‘I am thrilled with the result. Thank you, Inspirations, for providing just the finishing touch to my project.’

Sandra, what a beautiful stitching journey! From learning and stitching to thoughtfully finishing your project. Your clematis flower is absolutely beautiful and we’re sure you will get many years of stitching joy from its beauty and practicality…

Pam Smith

‘I love getting my email notifications for Inspirations when new content is ready for us stitchers!’

‘Here are a couple of projects I’ve recently finished.

Magnifique from Inspirations issue 77. Our Guild in East Texas did this as a project together, four sessions lead by teacher Carol Duval in 2023. I struggled with the cap and pushed myself to do this year and Ta Da… it’s done!’

‘And, I can’t forget about Strawberry Delight in Inspirations #122 by Mary Jo Hiney.’

‘Thank you for letting us share.’

Thank you so much for sharing your stitching journey with us, Pam! It’s always a joy to hear how our projects come to life in the hands of passionate stitchers like you! How wonderful that your Guild came together to work on Magnifique as a group. Congratulations on pushing through the challenge of the cap! And your Strawberry Delight is charming, thank you for taking the time to share them with us.

Joan Concannon

‘This is my St Albans Cathedral. I am currently working the back stitch details, not one of my favourite tasks, but so necessary to highlight the details.’

Your St Albans Cathedral looks absolutely wonderful, Joan. It may not be the most exciting part, but you’re so right — it really brings the whole design to life. The results will be well worth it!

Have you completed a project you’re proud of, or are you in the middle of one you’re excited about? What techniques have you learned (or pushed through!) recently?

Whatever you are stitching, we’d love to see it! Email photos of what you’ve created with needle and thread along with a few details about your stitching journey to news@inspirationsstudios.com
