Inspirations Calendar | February Project
31ST JANUARY 2025 - ASU #461
Project: Peony & Buttercup Pinwheel Publication: Flowers for Elizabeth Designer: Susan O’Connor
It’s fascinating how in life opposites attract. On one hand you would think that it makes perfect sense for ‘birds of a feather to flock together’ yet as humans we’re often infatuated with others who are the complete inverse of ourselves.
Tomorrow, when you reveal the February project Peony & Buttercup Pinwheel by Susan O’Connor in your Inspirations 2025 calendar, think about how Susan has beautifully paired this odd couple.
The Peony is a large, lush, and fragrant flower with layers of ruffled petals. The Buttercup is a smaller more delicate flower with petite glossy yellow petals.
Yet when paired together in this design, they form a wonderfully harmonious coupling stitched in luscious silk threads that make a stunning pinwheel.
Instructions are found in the book Flowers for Elizabeth and kits for this design are still available as well.
So next time you come across someone who is the complete opposite to you, chances are you might just make a delightful pairing!
