Project: Artichoke & Persimmons Publication: The Handpicked Collection 3 Designer: Anna Scott

This month's calendar reveal is a study in quiet sophistication.

Anna Scott's Artichoke & Persimmons is a crewelwork cushion of real elegance - a symmetrical arrangement of handsome artichokes, persimmons, small flowers and bold leaves flowing out from a central motif on graceful, scrolling stems.

Worked onto linen twill in honeysuckle, iron grey and Jacobean green, it has the hallmarks of traditional English crewel at its finest.

The cushion closes with a zip at the back and is finished with a braid formed from the same threads used to stitch the design ending in a tassel at each corner. A beautiful detail that ties the whole piece together with characteristic Anna Scott precision.
