Projects you won’t find in any of our books or magazines.

Handpicked is a collection of new projects available exclusively as individual patterns.

With each project handpicked for its beauty, originality and uniqueness, all our patterns come with our trademark world’s most beautiful photography, comprehensive instructions, detailed step-by-step images, plus a full list of required threads and materials.

Our latest Handpicked project is ‘Four Corners’ by Di Kirchner, an elegant and richly shaded crewelwork panel on sturdy linen twill, perfect to use as an insert for a wooden footstool base.

Crewelwork is loved for its stylised imagery and dramatic colour palette and this magnificent square footstool is a perfect example of both.

Rich shades of China blue, honeysuckle yellow, mauve and wine red have been used to work a single motif into each corner; a golden sunflower, a bunch of luscious grapes, a rotund plum and an elegant tulip. Coral berries, tipped with black, are scattered amongst shaded leaves, forming a cross of gently arching stems.

Worked with crewel wool onto linen twill, this superb design would be equally at home on a cushion or hanging on a wall.

The instructions and pattern for ‘Four Corners’ are now available to purchase as a printed pattern which we’ll post to you anywhere in the world, or you can buy it as a digital pattern to download instantly.
