Hanabatake | Digital Pattern

16th November 2018

This week one of our very popular projects is being released as a digital pattern for the first time. Hanabatake by Margaret Lee featured in Inspirations #95 and went on to become one of our bestselling Ready-To-Stitch kits.

Hanabatake, which translated means flower garden, is a sparkling zipped case perfect for storing all your sewing accessories and can easily be customised by changing the internal configuration of the pockets to suit any purpose, including an evening purse.

Stitched onto a background of mottled olive-green cotton, the glittering beaded flowers dance off the subtle fabric surface. Why has it become so popular? Perhaps it has something to do with the promise we made about this project back in issue #106 of our newsletter:

‘If you are yet to try bead embroidery Japanese-style, here is our promise to you… if you can thread a bead on a needle, you can stitch this pattern! Don’t let the intricate design and premium finish put you off, the foundation of the techniques used are straight forward beading stitches, so it’s very achievable.’

With kits still available and the added convenience of a digital pattern, why not add a beaded flower garden Japanese- style to your project list!
